Our next IAS meeting will be at MURPHY’S on January 8th, the SECOND Thursday of the month, since we obviously cannot meet on New Year’s Day! Please let your friends know, ***especially*** if they don’t check Facebook, email, or our website! They do not have to be IAS members to attend — ALL are welcome!

If you’d like to take advantage of Murphy’s HAPPY HOUR prices, get there early! They are reserving the dining room in front of the stage for us starting at 6 pm. Happy Hour prices will be in effect until 7 pm.
Murphy’s is offering our group a special 3-course fixed-price meal they created just for our dinner meeting! The cost is $15 per person, NOT including bar drinks, tax, or tip. Coffee/tea/soda ARE included in the $15 price. Here is the menu:
APPETIZER:
House Salad (spring mix with fresh vegetables, blue cheese crumbles, and balsamic vinaigrette)
ENTREE (choose one):
Irish Pie (a homemade blend of beef, sausage, onions, mashed potatoes, and special seasonings in a pie crust topped with gravy and served with cottage fries or fresh vegetables)
or
Bangers and Mash (Irish sausage served with mashed potatoes, gravy, and fresh vegetables)
or
Old Bay Broiled Flounder (with rice and sautéed spinach)
DESSERT:
Homemade Apple Crisp
We will be having a SILENT AUCTION of CELTIC items during the meeting to try and raise money to offset the $50 monthly rent Ascension will be charging us for our meetings starting in 2015. Please bring your checkbooks and help us raise the funds! The Scottish Society of Tidewater raised over $800 at their Silent Auction in December, an excellent accomplishment — surely the Irish can be as generous as the Scots! 😉
Finally, the entertainment for the evening will be an OPEN MIC of our members and their friends willing to perform! Edward will MC and fill in any gaps with requests, but ANYONE and EVERYONE who wants to sign up to sing a song, play a tune, tell a story, crack a joke, dance a jig, etc. would be MORE than welcome to do so! We want this to be a chance for everyone to do his or her party piece! Who knows what talent is hiding amongst us that hasn’t been brought to light yet???!!! Encourage each other!
