For our Thursday, September 4th meeting, we have the second half of a fantastic program from IAS members Patti Graeff and Debbie Moore PLUS an Ice Cream Social! This was rescheduled from the July 2014 meeting that was cancelled due to extreme weather condition.
Patti and Debbie will be finishing a great program for us called “A Coastal Tour of Ireland” based on their trip around the perimeter of Ireland! Several months ago they took us about 75% of the way around the island, but they still have the final Cork to Waterford to Wexford to Dublin leg to go! The first part of their journey was great, and I am sure this presentation will be good fun, too!
And speaking of fun, as part of the evening’s activities, we’d like to have an ICE CREAM SOCIAL. Who doesn’t love ice cream?! Ice cream is a treat for all ages, from the very young to the young at heart. The IAS will supply vanilla ice cream, bowls, and spoons. We ask that members each bring a FAVORITE TOPPING TO SHARE for an ICE CREAM SUNDAE BAR!!!!! Some possible options: Hershey chocolate syrup, chopped nuts, banana slices, maraschino cherries, caramel sauce, M&Ms, butterscotch chips, crushed pineapple, sliced strawberries, Oreo crumbles, sprinkles/Jimmies, brownie chunks, mini Reeces Pieces, Butterfinger crumbles, marshmallow fluff, etc. Please RSVP your topping contribution, so we don’t have a lot of topping repetition! Variety would be better!
And if you really want to earn that ice cream sundae, don’t forget that ACR Champion dancer Anne-Bernadette Dail will be teaching a FREE Irish Ceili Dance Class for us before the meeting! Please be there in comfortable shoes and clothes ready to have a good time from 6:15-7:00 pm if you have any interest in Irish social dancing! This is for all ages from the wee ones to the young-at-heart. NO PARTNER OR PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!!! Bring friends to join in the fun!
